The Act of Protection Originals

£275.00

For the Act of Protection, my latest project, I chose to channel my frustration about the pandemic and the environmental emergency.

The Act of Protection asks us to consider who we are protecting, how we protect them, and why.

Seeing discarded face masks on the ground demonstrated to me a lack of consideration for those who might have to clean up the streets and little regard for the impact this behaviour would have on the other’s health and the environment.

I spent a few months going around Camberwell, Peckham and London collecting discarded masks I found on the streets and creating cyanotypes of the masks on an original copy of the 1946 National Health Service Act.

There are 90 unique, framed cyanotypes for sale. Once you have paid for the print I can send images of all the prints for you to choose. Alternatively you can come to the studio to choose your print. Please be aware that every print is unique and the images here are just examples of the artworks.

£50 from each sale goes to the King’s College Hospital Charity as a thank you to the work the NHS, and in my case, King’s have done, not just over the last 18 months but over the last 12 years. You can find out more about why I am really proud to support the KCH Charity here.
