The Act of Protection Open Edition Prints

from £100.00

For the Act of Protection, my latest project, I chose to channel my frustration about the pandemic and the environmental emergency.

The Act of Protection asks us to consider who we are protecting, how we protect them, and why.

Seeing discarded face masks on the ground demonstrated to me a lack of consideration for those who might have to clean up the streets and little regard for the impact this behaviour would have on the other’s health and the environment.

I spent a few months going around Camberwell, Peckham and London collecting discarded masks I found on the streets and creating cyanotypes of the masks on an original copy of the 1946 National Health Service Act.

You can buy unique framed prints from the series here but if you want a print of the first page, I have open edition prints in several sizes for sale.

20% from each sale goes to the King’s College Hospital Charity as a thank you to the work the NHS, and in my case, King’s have done, not just over the last 18 months but over the last 12 years. You can find out more about why I am really proud to support the KCH Charity here.
